Trade Rulings That Can Affect Your Sourcing

As part of CSIC’s efforts to keep buyers informed of WTO (world trade organization) rulings which could affect your sourcing.
Involved Nations with China Products Affected Details/ Key dates should be included below.
Argentina

 

 

Conveyor or transmission belts or belting, of vulcanized rubber, reinforced only with textile materials.

 

 

 

According to globaltradealert.org the country has implemented a protectionist policy of reference pricing with regards to the import of certain woven fabrics of synthetic staple fibers.  For the uninitiated, reference pricing refers to a policy of forcing the importer of a good priced below the reference price to guarantee the difference between the reference price and the value declared at customs. The specific products affected have been kept classified by MERCOSUR.

Global Trade Alert also notes that the South American country has “initiated an antidumping investigation on conveyor or transmission belts or belting, of vulcanized rubber, reinforced only with textile materials from Brazil and China.”

 

United States

 

Xanthan gum The United States is launching an anti dumping investigation of Xanthan gum.  No policy has been implemented yet
Pakistan

 

Writing paper Pakistan has launched an anti-dumping investigation of Chinese writing paper.  No anti-dumping policy has been implemented at this time.
Brazil

 

Certain table, kitchen or other household articles and parts of stainless steel from China. In positive news from Global Trade Alert, the government of Brazil has concluded an anti-dumping investigation of Chinese stainless steel products and has decided not to implement any anti-dumping policy.
